Subsidised Volunteer Enrolment
Subsidised Volunteer Enrolment into a NZQA Approved Programme of Study
CNZ values the dedication and contributions of its volunteers and we are thrilled to announce a special opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge. Coastguard Education is offering a subsidised rate for a limited number of volunteers for the New Zealand Certificate in Domestic Maritime Operations (Restricted Limits) (Level 4), an NZQA-approved programme.
This course aims to qualify and train you to the regulatory standards required to skipper, undertake maintenance, and safely operate boats within the limits specified in the qualification and prepare you for the regulatory Seafarer Certification (SRL). Completion of this qualification is a pre-requisite to applying for a Maritime New Zealand Skipper Restricted Limits Certificate.
The course is a combination of home based study, classroom and onboard practical hours. It is split into 4 modules over a 12 month timeframe:

- Commercial mariner
- Navigational Aids including MRROC
