Aim: To enable competent use of radar to aid navigation and avoid collision.
Duration: 12 Hours - typically 4 hours on a Friday evening, plus 8 hours on a Saturday which includes a 2-hour written assessment.
Qualification: NZ Radar Certificate.
Prerequisites: It is strongly recommended that you hold a Boatmaster Certificate or equivalent. Some experience with chart work is required to complete this course of study.
Includes principles and components of the radar set, targets radar, navigation and collision avoidance. Comprehensive course to help you understand and safely operate the radar set on your vessel.
