Aim: To enable competent use of radar to aid navigation and avoid collision.
Duration: 12 Hours - typically 4 hours on a Friday evening, plus 8 hours on a Saturday which includes a 2-hour written assessment.
Qualification: NZ Radar Certificate.
Prerequisites: It is strongly recommended that you hold a Boatmaster Certificate or equivalent. Some experience with chart work is required to complete this course of study.
Course Requirements: We welcome all domestic learners. A NZ citizen or permanent resident, and an Australian citizen or permanent resident are considered domestic learners.
We can only accept international learners if:
You are employed by a company in New Zealand; and
Your work requires you to do the course; and
The course is completed within 10 days.
