Aim: To gain detailed knowledge and practical competence in sea survival techniques and equipment.
Duration: 16 Hours.
Qualification: Advanced Sea Survival (Recognised by Yachting NZ & World Sailing).
Course Requirements: We welcome all domestic learners. A NZ citizen or permanent resident, and an Australian citizen or permanent resident are considered domestic learners.
We can only accept international learners if:
You are employed by a company in New Zealand; and
Your work requires you to do the course; and
The course is completed within 10 days.
Prerequisites: None. Coastal yachting experience
Equipment: Students are required to bring along foul-weather gear and an inflatable Personal Floatation Device (PFD). This will be used for the practical session in the pool.
Course: A comprehensive theoretical and practical course required by crew requiring an offshore, category 1 certificate.
